Floater Lab Co., Ltd. (hereinafter the “Company”) establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy to protect the personal information of users, comply with relevant laws and regulations, and safeguard the rights and interests of users.
Article 1 (Items of Personal Information Collected)
The Company provides the Service without a separate registration process and collects only the minimum information necessary for service delivery and enhancement.
Information Provided by Users: Images of menu boards captured through camera access permissions while the application is in use, or images voluntarily uploaded from the device’s gallery/storage.
Automatically Collected Information: Device information (OS, model name, language settings), device location information, access logs, service usage and activity records, advertising identifiers (ADID/IDFA), IP address, and app crash data (Crash Report).
Customer Support Information: Email address and consultation content provided during customer support inquiries.
Article 2 (Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing)
The Company processes personal information for the following purposes. Such processing is based on the performance of the Service and the “Legitimate Interest” of the Company.
Service Provision and Optimization: Delivery of menu translation results and data processing via Google Cloud.
AI and Machine Learning Enhancement: Training of algorithms and machine learning (ML) models and improvement of translation technology using uploaded images.
Operations and Marketing: Statistical analysis of usage (Google Analytics), provision of personalized advertisements (AdMob), and correction of service errors.
Article 3 (Overseas Transfer of Personal Information)
For stable global infrastructure operations and the use of professional tools, the Company transfers data overseas as follows:

Article 4 (Retention and Destruction of Personal Information)
In principle, the Company destroys personal information without delay once the purpose of processing has been achieved.
Retention of Anonymous Data: Images uploaded by users are converted into a depersonalized (anonymized) form by completely removing all personally identifiable elements. Such data may be retained and utilized indefinitely for technical development and maintaining service credibility.
Information in electronic file formats is deleted using technical methods that prevent restoration or reproduction.
Article 5 (User Rights and California Privacy Rights (CCPA))
Users may withdraw their consent for data collection at any time by deleting the application or adjusting device settings.
Global Rights: Users may request access to, rectification of, erasure of, and the portability of their data. Users also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (especially in the EU/UK).
CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act): Users residing in California, USA, have the right to opt out of the sale of their personal information and the right to request deletion. The Company does not sell user information to third parties.
Article 6 (Protection of Children Under 14)
The Company does not intentionally collect personal information from children under the age of 14. If the Company becomes aware that a child under 14 has used the Service and provided information, the Company will take immediate steps to delete such information upon the request of a legal guardian.

Article 8 (Security Measures and Limitations)
Technical Measures: The Company applies encryption (SSL/TLS) for data transmission and performs masking of personal information within images.
Security Limitations: While the Company makes every effort to protect information, it shall not be held liable for security incidents caused by unforeseeable defects in hardware/software or factors beyond the Company’s control, provided there is no willful misconduct or gross negligence by the Company.
